1. Who we are

Vidsly ("we", "us", "our") is an AI text-to-speech, image, and video generation service at vidsly.ai. Vidsly is run by an independent operator; it is not a company. You can contact us at hello@vidsly.ai.

2. What data we collect

Account data

When you create an account, Clerk, our authentication provider, collects your email address and, if you give it, your name. We keep your email address and your Clerk account ID in our database. We never see or store your password — sign-in is handled entirely by Clerk.

Content you create

We store what you make so you can find it again in your history and library: the text you narrate, your prompts and video plans, the images, characters, and audio you upload, and the audio, images, and videos we generate for you. Most finished videos get a share page: anyone who has its link can watch the video. Share pages are not listed on the site and are not indexed by search engines.

Usage and billing data

Every plan runs on one credit wallet that pays for narration, images, and video. To run that wallet, we record your plan, your credit balance and when credits expire, the credits charged and refunded for each video, and for narration the number of characters and the voice used. We also record in-product events (for example, opening the pricing page or pressing Generate) so we can see where the product works and where it does not. We use all of this to charge the right amount, show your usage in your dashboard, and improve the service.

If you create API keys, we store a one-way hash of each key and its first few characters (so you can tell your keys apart), never the full key.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We store your Stripe customer ID and your subscription details (plan, status, and billing period).

How you found us

On your first visit we set a small first-party cookie that records where you came from: the campaign tags in the link you followed, or the referring website. When you sign up, that source is saved once on your account. We use it only to understand which channels bring people to Vidsly.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site (pages visited and completed upgrades). We do not send your name, email address, or account ID to Google Analytics.

Messages you send us

If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message, and keep them in our inbox so we can reply.

Security and error data

Your IP address is used briefly to rate-limit requests and prevent abuse; it is not saved to your account. When something breaks, an error report (what failed, the page, your browser and device type, and sometimes your account ID or email address) is sent to Sentry and emailed to us so we can fix it.

Cookies

We use cookies for sign-in (Clerk session cookies), analytics (Google Analytics), and the first-party "how you found us" cookie described above, which lasts 90 days. We do not use advertising cookies.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide the service: generating your narration, images, and videos, and keeping them in your account
  • To run your credit wallet, plan limits, and billing
  • To screen video scripts, image prompts, uploaded images, and text sent to our API for prohibited content (see our Terms)
  • To send transactional emails (welcome and purchase confirmations, video-ready and failed-video notices, credit refunds)
  • To send product emails such as onboarding tips and check-ins; every one of these has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect transactional emails
  • To respond to support requests
  • To find and fix errors and keep the service secure

We do not sell your data. We do not use your text or uploads to train AI models. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in this policy.

4. Data retention

We keep your account data, your creations, and your usage and billing records for as long as your account exists. Video plans you never confirm are deleted after a day. Deleting your account is not self-serve yet, and removing your sign-in alone does not delete the data we hold: to delete your account and the data associated with it, email hello@vidsly.ai from your account email address and we will confirm once it is done. Stripe keeps its own records of past payments, as the law requires of payment processors.

5. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@vidsly.ai.

6. Children's privacy

Vidsly is a tool for content creators and businesses — not a service directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account (see our Terms of Service). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Third-party services

We use the following services to run Vidsly. Each receives only what it needs for its job:

  • Clerk — sign-in and account management; receives your name, email address, and sign-in activity (privacy policy)
  • Stripe — payments; receives your payment details and billing email (privacy policy)
  • Vercel — hosts the website and app; handles every web request
  • Railway — hosts our database and our video render service; stores your account, usage, and creation records, and processes your video jobs
  • Cloudflare R2 — stores your generated audio, images, and videos, and the files you upload
  • Upstash — Redis for rate limiting and the render job queue; receives IP addresses (for rate limits) and job details
  • OpenAI — writes scripts and video plans, generates and edits images, generates some voices, transcribes audio you upload, and screens scripts, prompts, and images for prohibited content; receives the text, prompts, audio, and images involved
  • Google Cloud Text-to-Speech and Microsoft Azure Speech — voice generation; receive the text you narrate
  • fal.ai — image and video models; receives image prompts, reference images, motion prompts, and the images a clip is made from
  • BytePlus ModelArk — video models; receives motion prompts and the images a clip is made from
  • Resend — sends our emails and receives email sent to vidsly.ai addresses; receives your email address and the email content
  • Amazon SES — may send our emails in place of Resend; receives your email address and the email content
  • Google (Gmail) — email you send to vidsly.ai addresses, contact-form messages, and error reports are delivered to the operator's Gmail inbox so we can read and answer them
  • Sentry — error monitoring; receives error reports
  • Google Analytics — site analytics; receives page views and completed-upgrade events (plan and price), plus the browser and device data Google Analytics collects
